Add this on top of the massive buyout of ammunition by the government for purposes other than war - all the more reason for every family to be fully protected. I don't think we'll ever seen an armed revolution in this country, unless the day comes when it's apparent the government is taking up arms against its citizens, then you'll see a population highly motivated to stay free of tyranny.

These changes have been slow to us, and for the most part we've been apathetic, lulled to sleep and accepted them; it will take something of magnitude to wake everyone up to the situation and motivate the populous to becoming a disorganized militia - with one common goal, freedom.

Maybe that's what this country is hungry for - something a big as the clamps coming down on us to motivate the change we so desperately need. The only alternative is status quo and ultimate slavery.

Would you deny something appears to be in the works, Middleman?

It almost makes me think a major natural disaster is approaching and we are being kept in the dark about it - like a massive asteroid strike. That we will be reduced to surviving tribes, and treated as hordes of lifeless zombies.

we were led to believe the stores here were in case of a terror attack during the Olympics, but the equipment that has been stored is the type of equipment that is used for disaster areas ,water containers and trailer generators tents military green ,sand and white ,wood burning heaters ,medical supplies ,construction equipment and transport ,this along with the training that has been taking place all points to mass civil unrest or a disaster ,this is not your usual defense stores setup due to the use of civilian warehousing in certain locations ,and those in the know are keeping very quiet ,

No, I 'm on board.

There's plenty of circumstantial evidence in recent times that they're building up for something, and it's coming from more credible sources than the usual fear porn about plastic coffins and FEMA camps. I would include the aggressive attitude towards journalists and prosecution of whistleblowers in that circumstantial evidence.

One of the things that makes me think it really might be serious this time is this unusual split we're seeing among the normal political teams on the NSA story. You have the core, mainstream power brokers like McCain/Graham, Peter King, Feinstein, and of course, Obama, on one side, and a smaller, motley coalition of lefties and libertarian republicans on the other side.

When else has that happened in recent political memory?

Children? Check.

School teachers? Yes.

Folks drinking in bars? Of course.

The mentally ill? Load 'em up.

People on the terrorist watch list? Check.

Government agents? No goddam way, what are you fucking crazy?

As individuals yes, they are allowed to have weapons, but on the job training for IRS agents for the purpose of their jobs - now that raises suspicion. Now if it were handgun training, the argument could be raised for self protection, but this is SEMI-AUTOMATIC ASSAULT RIFLES TRAINING FOR U.S. TAX AGENTS!!! If you can't understand the reason for suspicion, then you're the one that's nuts.

Nobody is escorting a group of children or drunks or mentally ill people to a gun range for semiautomatic weapon training to help them pursue being children, drunks and mentally ill.

Good point, and indeed it is strange - my guess is that the repubs and libs lean more towards the libertarian point of view regardless of their party affiliation.

Not to derail or sidetrack, just wanted to inject that Lindsey Graham has been an embarrassment to our state, his continual reelection is testimony to the apathy of the masses. However, I did listen to him thoroughly explain his position on immigration and I have to say he won me over to it - I started out not agreeing and went in knowing I would oppose him, but, I came out thinking it was well crafted strategy that, while may seem appeasing is really just taking a hopelessly broken system and coming to rational means for some sort of new procedure.
