Yes, I would say for real a hoax. The long count calendar seems to simply start over. I would like to add that it seems to be off as it looks like it was supposed to end while we were crossing the galactic plane. We are parsecs beyond that now.

2012 has always been a hoax. The mayans had no prophecies. The calendar ends, and according to some just restarts. So does the one on my wall, better build a bunker.

I think the key to 2012 lies in the meaning that people are assigning to it. The rituals they hold to receive the 'energies', the expectation of some catastrophe, or consciousness shift. These will be used by the hidden ones to manipulate the popluation for some agenda. Or we'll have new 201? to speculate on next year. Either way never a dull moment
