I seriously doubt that this was an attempted shutdown by a bunch of "kids".

Real kids with a hardon for shutdown-itis would have gone after Google, or YouTube, or some other pertinent site.

No, there's too much information floating around on here, there are too many people watching this site (and I suspect there are a few who already have fairly wide distribution networks).

Someone tried to bring the site down.

Period.
