Just arrived in Bucharest, Romania, a couple of days ago. I went out last night with friends and drank some kind of traditional herbed wine and unfiltered beer and when I got back to the hotel I had severe gastronomic distress. Don't know if it was the wine, the beer, something I ate or some kind of flu.

Anyway, I wasn't feeling so great today and had no plans for tonight, which was fine - I consider New Year's to be amateur drunk night and I'm a professional, ha. And I think it doesn't bode well for the New Year to wake up feeling like shit on January 1st, so my tradition is to take it easy on New Year's Eve.

However, the cute young lady working at the reception desk has been flirting with me shamelessly and will be here at midnight (30 minutes from now), so I casually suggested we have a little champagne.

She seemed thrilled with the idea, so I managed to find some. I brought back some flowers and mistletoe, too, lol, so things could get interesting. The champagne is cooling down in a snowbank outside.

Wish me luck, gang... I'm going down there in 10 minutes. :love:
