Do you know this number 0018007772288 or 001807772288
This number is ringing numerous homes in the UK not sure if also ringing other countries but no one knows who it is.
Some times (& the more sinister) a foreign voice is heard asking for help & then the caller hangs up. Other calls ring off before you can answer it or as happened to me about an hour ago, caller listens for a couple of minutes & then hangs up.
I searched this number out on google & came up with a lot of queries made about this number calling lots of homes at all times of the day or night but nobody actually knows who it is.
I believe the number is ringing from outside the uk
No doubt there could be many reasons why this number is calling but the asking for help seems very strange.
Made me laugh but one thought came to mind .... Manchurian candidate
Another .... I read somewhere last week that apparently there is a very high percentage of the population who have had one type or another of paranormal experiences over the phone in the last 10 yrs...
Could also be totally innocent & boring reasons for the call like solicitation calling through automated systems
Thought I'd put this one to you guys to see what theories you could come up with.
You can choose either to respond with factual investigation results or you can have some fun & use your imagination to come up with as strange a reason as you like, but please state in your response if which it is.
Fact can sometimes be stranger than fiction.

I think it's Gods number because whenever I try to return the call to talk to him he is never home as usual. It seems that when ever I'm looking for help the bastards to busy to pick up the phone
Other than that I have had calls which just end noooooooooooobody there. Then I get a call about two hour's later that tells me that a shit load of people die without leaving a will, at that point I hangup.

I question everything. I don't believe anything I'm told or anything I see. Prove it, or fuck off. And that's not me I see in the mirror in the morning.

That is pretty strange indeed.
To my knowledge, toll codes (the first three numbers of your local phone number), area codes, and country codes cannot start with 0. The only time I've ever got a number call me with a zero leading these codes was when the collections department of my phone provider called me. Which makes sense for them, because they can connect directly to you without having to navigate the exchange servers of other providers or countries.
I would theorize that this originates from deep within the system somehow, and I would fear that it's apparent 'nothingness' of actual content, could be subversively passing information or instructions.... Chilling.

If it is one of those automated systems. I have a solution for you to try. I was getting a shitload of those automated calls a couple of months ago. At all hours of the day and the night. You pick up the phone and there is a silence for 10-15 seconds, then you get some pre-recorded twat telling you it's not a sales call, then they l try to sell you something lol. Anyways after much searching online i found a solution.
The first 10-15 seconds is the automated dialing system trying to verify your number and connect. So as soon as you pick up the phone, you want to press the has key constantly for 20 seconds. The automated dialer gets confused by the incoming tone and disconnects. The automated dialer makes a note on its system that the number it just tried and failed to connect to is no good. You number either gets deleted or gets a strike through it so the system knows not to contact that number in the future as it's a dud. Since i did that i haven't had one automated call, and believe me when i tell you i was getting loads.
If it isn't an automated dialer,i'm sure they won't hang on for 20-30 seconds listening to a load of repeating beeps and tones lol. The other thing to do is get caller I..D, so you can see who's calling in the first place.

Maybe your right, maybe it is god's number but you would think he at least would have an answering machine & I too would hang up if any sales caller didn't have the decency to establish & quote "how many" shit load of people died without leaving a will..... as they say on the Dragon's Den. "come prepared & make sure you know your numbers" some salespeople just don't do their home work !!!

I think it's may just be a calling service that checks what time people answer the phone and report the findings back to the commercial callers have a good idea of when to hit people with those lame recorded advertisements.

If you lend someone 20 dollars and never see that person again, it's probably worth it.

Also if you live in the UK i recommend you registering your number with the TPS "Telephone Preference Society" TPS is the official central opt out register on which you can record your preference not to receive unsolicited sales or marketing calls. It is a legal requirement that all organizations (including charities, voluntary organizations and political parties) do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless they have your consent to do so.

I had a missed call from a similar number, I called back and it was a robot from some erotic hotline from Italy, and it turned out that they charged my phone bill with 120 euro/call.
So bee careful what number u call back.
PS: Sory for my bad English.

thanx for the investigation spock, this was my first thought until I read through the write ups on google regarding this number ....If only the automated calls came through from this number then yes, but doesn't seem to be consistent with a automated system as one person received a call through to their direct line at work & someone asked for them by their first name although they had the surname wrong !!!! Other people have got foreign voices asking for help !!!
These have been extracted from whocallsme.com website

Despite contacting TPS I'm still receiving silent calls. When you have done all the right things as a prevention, what can you do with people who act above the law and codes of conduct?

Had this call today at 16:13. Rang off before I could answer. I think it may be cold calling from abroad, which the TPS have no control over.

Now another thing to consider.... this number seems to be an American number, why would american sales companies be interested in soliciting calls for UK householders ??
