My mother asked a nurse when she was at her local doctor's surgery last week (Glasgow) if anyone had it in the area. The nurse said that lots of people had been tested, but only three people actually were confirmed with it, and they were three of the least sick people with flu that she had ever seen. Got to tell you, suddenly I wasn't so scared any more!

i live in the north of the uk and ive not heard of anyone in my region who has actually been diagnosed with it. maybe i havent watched enuf local tv recently or something i dunno... but theres definately been none in my immediate area... i can vouch for that cos news like that would of spread faster the lurgy (pardon the pun).
does anyone personally know someone with swine flu ?
pls state yeah or neigh and your approx locality.... thx
i know a woman with it infact her husband and 2 kids have it too and are confined at home under quartine. it has not been in the local papers or on local news i only know about it as she never turned up for work on monday and when i asked arround at work as to ware she was i found out that she was off work with swine flu.
I confirmed this by speaking to her on the phone about it to make sure it is was not some office joke. the panic at work was swift with people who had briefly came in to contact with her on friday, thinking they might have it and was ringing there doctors about it like crazy booking flu shots.
i myself am not worryed about it as i know that after 48 hours of contact with a person with the any type of flu you will show symtems of infection and as it was atleast 55 hours since my self or people in the office came in to contact with her that chances are we are fine and free from infection.
lucky for me i never have nor can ever have a flu shot of any kind even if a doctor demands i have one as i am allergic to eggs which is used in the making of flu shots
