just read about uk gov's 100,000 new swine flu cases per week prediction... saying they will not be able to contain the pandemic once it hits full throttle.

i live in the north of the uk and ive not heard of anyone in my region who has actually been diagnosed with it. maybe i havent watched enuf local tv recently or something i dunno... but theres definately been none in my immediate area... i can vouch for that cos news like that would of spread faster the lurgy (pardon the pun).

does anyone personally know someone with swine flu ?

pls state yeah or neigh and your approx locality.... thx :)

Yes and they (three people) recovered fully in about 5 days..7 was the longest..
All they got was a slight cough, low fever, and aches...and runny nose..
tested at school district expense after school let out...
they required no treatment whatsoever.

i was burning up with a high fever, horrible body aches that made me feel like i was 96 years old, and a cough that lasted a month. this was 3-4 weeks ago.

All the school districts here were required to test ALL cases that had flu like symptoms, and all three were surprised that thats what it was. They went halfway into their sickness...and those were three confirmed and CDC reported cases.. HAd they not been required to do so, they would have never evenbeen tested, since their symptoms were so weak, they didnt hthink much of it, but the district sent letters begging people to get tested on their dime if they even felt funny, so many did..

There were a decent amount of cases..locally..we have a HUGe hispanic population that travels regularly..so that was our point of entry..

IT was extrememly mild, and the doctors told them that that was actually one of the signifiers..MUCH weaker than even an avereage flu, and lasted a much shorter time..
There was a burst of cases at the end of the school year here that shut several entire districts for cleaning, and delayed finals by thre days.. (high school and middle schools)

On the 17th of June my daughter had emergency spinal surg' @ Loyola in Maywood Il. (shes ok). She stayed on the Ronald McDonald Floor ( was great for the kids).
I Noticed that 4 out of the 12 rooms on her wing had infectious disease warnings posted to the doors.ODD.. i talked to the nurse and they would not disclose what the issue was w/ the children in the rooms, but i was on the floor for a week and was able to talk to 2 of the 4 and both parents claimed the children where infected w/ the swine flu. nothing on the news at 5! or in the paper! and i looked everyday while i was at the hospital, although posted at every entrance and all service and security desks were flyers w/ masks stating if sick w/ flu like symptoms use mask and hand sanitizer. :headscratch:
