"When I was in bed, I was begging the sheriff, 'Please let me free -- at least one hand,' and he said, no, he didn't want to," Juana Villegas said in an interview with a local Nashville television station. She was describing the experience of being shackled to her hospital bed as she went into labor. Villegas gave birth in the sheriff's custody, after she was stopped by local police while driving without a valid license.

According to Elliott Ozment, Villegas's lawyer, driving without a license is generally handled with a citation, not an arrest. He believes Villegas was only brought in because she was an undocumented immigrant.

It seemed obvious that the DOJ's actions were a backlash of the Sheriff's actions, but I could be wrong. Maybe the opposite was true?

These guys have been rocking the sets against him for years, and they wont back down either....AARPAIO tried to intimidate, threaten, and lillegally control the press by inventing laws targeting the Phoenix New Times, and they have been in legal battles, ever since. The word got out, by using their connections to alert the Mainstream Media, and the investigations began.......including setting up an ABC World News for an exploit expose, as a warning that he's under investigation, he could have backed out when Peter Jennings took him out, but there was a reversal, as he went even more anti-hispanic, outlawed speaking spanish in schools, as well as creating a private army of "Minutemen".......who does he think he is ???George Washington???.........No AARPAIO is the oldest sheriff in the US, and probably the world........no shit.

Also there was a Day Without Immigration started by his Klan, in Congress.......McCain and crew....that started an expose and a lawsuit for discrimination, that is happening right now, but very few people know that he was instrumental in getting these policies influenced through other nations, as they followed suit after the US began its discriminatory practices. In essence this was all tied into the post 9/11 political-military strategy to intimidate us from rising up against their policies........masked as directly targeted stabs at controlling each group of ethnic origins with a policy that clearly shows their racist bias....... :yell:

With all this.....and the fact he is both 1) Sheriff and 2) Owner of the food concessions service in the Jail systems, with one of the largest volumes of prisoners, left to live in the harshest of conditions, he planned to benefit from excessive arrests and by targeting minorities who could not defend themselves.
This netted him millions.......and 3) He was caught going over the border in his police cruiser, and he had $50,000.00 in US currency in the trunk, undeclared, and was searched as it was suspicious for an american sheriff to try to cross the border, unannounced, without escort into the "Danger Zone"......on top of 4) His behavior driving his unmarked car off of a terraced landscaped parking lot, in a shopping center, landing it teetering on top of a rock!!!LOL!!! While dozens of witnesses reported him pulling into the lot at a high rate of speed, joyriding across the lot at a blitzkreig pace, claiming his foot/pedal was stuck to the floor??? And refused to take a breathalyzer, as mandated by policy for all Police Accidents in their vehicles, on/off the clock.

His Background comes from over 25 years of working for the DEA and FBI.......and he thinks he's a cowboy too......

Some of you guys are way too quick to play the conspiracy card, but that's hardly surprising, given that you're probably only getting the half of the story that's designed to push your buttons.

As mentioned in many of the articles about this case, and easily confirmed by a google search, the formal part of this investigation is so old it started under Bush. It's taken so long because of almost unprecedented delaying tactics and failure to cooperate on the part of Arpaio's department, and has been expanded as time has gone on, and as more evidence has shown up.

It pays to read both the mainstream and alternate media, because they'll both leave shit out when it suits them.
