What thread should I have put this on exactly?
BBC News - Tests show Tesco Everyday Value Spaghetti Bolognese contained horsemeat of more than 60%

Hehe take it easy guys
This is actually a staged campaign to hit on the romanian meat exporters. Actually the romanian horse meat has been exported in a raw stage, on a carcass. The meat has been exported to some companies in Bulgaria and Cyprus for tax purposes. After that the meat went to Italy and from Italy to France where it has been processed. After that the meat changed its characteristics and has been sold to a dutch company that sold it in UK as beef.
The meat originating from Romania is going through the same checks as elsewhere in EU. There are independant third party checks going on in four processing stages inside the meat processing facilities only to make sure that the Romanian meat industry meets the standards of the EU.
This is actually the fourth press attack on the romanian meet producers.
There have been other attacks related to bio-terrorism. Out ofthe blue, romanian poultry farms got infected with Avian flu and Romania has been banned to export chicken meat. Same with pork meat except it was Swine Pest.
Romania is one of the poorest countrys of the EU and the EU members are trying to keep it in the position of a market for EU products and cheap labour force. This is why things like this happen.

Do you know what, all in all when you put things into perspective, there is actually some sort of clarity in the above statement....

"It is very convenient to blame the Poles and the Romanians". "There are an estimated 70,000 horses unaccounted for in Northern Ireland"
Shadow environment secretary Mary Creagh
11 February 2013
Shadow environment secretary Mary Creagh said unwanted horses were given false paperwork in Northern Ireland before being sold for 10 euro (£8) and then resold to dealers for meat for as much as 500 euro (£423).
She said there was currently a "lucrative" trade in horses, claiming that while the Polish and Romanians were being "conveniently" blamed for the scandal, the contamination problem had started across the Irish Sea.
Speaking in the Commons, Ms Creagh said: "The Ulster Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals have clear evidence of an illegal trade of unfit horses from Ireland to the UK for meat, with horses being re-passported to meet demands for horse meat in mainland Europe.
"It says that there are currently 70,000 horses unaccounted for in Northern Ireland. Unwanted horses are being sold for 10 euro and being sold on for meat for 500 euro - a lucrative trade.
"It is very convenient to blame the Poles and the Romanians but so far neither country have found any problems with their beef abattoirs."
Many horses are also believed to be contaminated with the carcinogen phenylbutazone, often referred to as bute, she said, claiming that the Environment Secretary Owen Paterson had been "incompetent".
Ms Creagh accused the Environment Secretary of not taking the situation seriously enough as he had to be called back to London from a long weekend last Friday to deal with the crisis. She also claimed the Environment Agency and police failed to act on information she provided that three British companies were involved in potentially importing beef that contained horse.
Meanwhile, there was evidence that contaminated meat was entering the food chain from the UK and via Ireland rather than the rest of Europe.
The lack of information from the Government had been a "disgrace", Ms Creagh added, telling MPs the British public's confidence in the food chain was "sinking like a stone".

I went out for a steak last night. And because of the scare over the type of meat I was about to eat I asked the waiter where the meat had been purchased. He just said I have no idea. All I know is that it comes in big boxes stamped with. Produced in Australia... Kangaroo meat. Handle with care. Bongee..I just googled what types of meat are imported and sold in different countries through out the world. You would be amazed. I'm not bother what type of meat I eat as long as it's a herbivore and I know what it is.
I question everything. I don't believe anything I'm told or anything I see. Prove it, or fuck off. And that's not me I see in the mirror in the morning.
