Good thread , relevant points made, it all appears confusing about a population explosion, when the Earth is covered in vast wildernesses, bit like the Global warming concept, when we have had so much snow in many countries of late.

It is the cities which are overpopulated and through necessity many folk have to live in them to survive or commute from suburbs. The population on the whole over the last 100+ years has moved from the country to live in an urban paradise full of interesting amusements, if you dont have transport you would be stuffed!
We all rely on supermarkets, petrol stations and a ready supply of other fuels for heating and cooking, with this reliance you wonder how we would survive without this conveniences.

Ever wonder why the places that aren't populated are that way? Because they're not optimal for population growth. I live in Utah in the US, which has a whole ton of open space, but come on now...what are you going to farm in the desert?
Making the jump to saying it's "them" keeping us restricted is a bit much.

Overpopulation doesn't mean that we're using too much land, it references using too much resources. Think fresh water and land suitable for agriculture and habitation, which must be used without impacting the world so negatively that those resources go away.

Regarding free energy machines...if it's so great and true, why don't the people who make them start selling them en masse? It should only take a small demonstration to an investor, and boom, you've got money to start marketing and distributing.
