Dennis Weaver, the US retired actor, here builds himself a mansion made almost entirely from....old tires and dirt.

This is eco-modernisation, proving once and for all that eco-friendly design and construction/building does not have to smell or look funny.

In fact, it is cheaper, quicker, easier and safer to construct such an 'earthship' than any conventional construction technique! This is eco-rationality in action.

Prepare to be amazed.

Been a long time since I've seen Dennis Weaver. Remember him as 'McCloud'?

Yeah I never heard of this. I was looking up off grid communities, because I'm gonna do an article that lists a bunch of them, and I found this.

Yeah I know there's newer videos of this stuff, but I figured since this is one of the originals, I would post it.

I put my hands up bro... Thanks for the post, its interesting stuff and a fuckoff massive house... The Average family in Britain lives in a box like home with small rooms... And as the government build more houses they are getting smaller with less living and garden space... Some of the show homes are fitted out with custom made three quarter size furniture and fittings in order to make the rooms falsely look larger...
