Eastern Japan Nuclear Plants - Much Larger Failure Potential

Like all of you, I have been watching and reading quite a bit about what is happening in Daiichi. What I have not seen, however, is anyone mention something very concerning.

While most of the world is focused on Daiichi, its sister plant, with 4 reactors, is only about 10 miles South. This plant sits within the evacuation zone suggested by the Japanese government, as well as the U.S. and IAEA. There is little doubt this plant has experienced good amounts of radiation and will be severely irradiated if full melt downs occur at Daiichi.

With that being said, who and how will they man this nuclear facility in the event of a major meltdown at Daiichi? They have had some issues at this plant as well, even though they are declaring it "safe". The Onagawa plant, with its 3 reactors, sits about 55 miles or so to the North of Daiichi. It too has had some issues after the quake (fire). Tokai, with its two reactors, sits about 40 miles South of Daiichi and has experienced cooling failure (backup is working). All of these plants have been deemed "safe" for now. Based on what is happening in Daiichi, I wonder what safe really means. All of these plants are operated by TEPCO.

This nightmare scenario could encompass up to 15 nuclear reactors, not the 6 they are just currently talking about.
