They didn't stifle science and discovery so Mayan Culture > Christian Culture IMO. When it came to REAL knowledge they excelled. When it comes to BSing and brainwashing, the Christians had them beat hands down.

Their only weakness was they were not good at killing like the Christians.
Science will fly you into the Cosmos

Religion will fly you into Buildings

That is my take on Religion. Throughout the ages this has been the will of man, not the will of the gods.

The one thing that gets skipped by every single
armchair wizard that ever comments on the subject.

The real and only sacrifice intended to be explained by The Jesus story (notice i didnt say 'christianity) is the sacrifice of the base ego/impulses/lusts/7deadly sins, for the betterment of humanity.

Meaning sacrificing Self for Service to humanity.

Its less a manipulation than setting a higher standard for human behavior.

Nothing evil about that. At all.
Anybody insisting so, is just playing games.

Ok, now your turn to talk about pedo priests and crusades and all that, which is where the manipulation really lies, but that comes from the ego. And not the message.

But nobody seems to be capable of making important distinctions.

armchair wizard...can't tell if thats belittling me or empowering me :hmmm:

You didn't notice I hadn't brought up the Jesus story, i was lumping religious doctrines into a lump, a whole if you will. The messiah stories have nothing to do with what i'm saying, i'm talking about the will of man by using these tools, to gain power and create fear for other men.
I for one have no ego, yours shows through the name calling you have brought forth, and the "bigger man" facade you show in your post. I didn't "skip" over the Jesus story, because the story in its base form is quit pure, and doesn't need attention. As I said, i was commenting and showing my opinions on Religions.
Thanks for the compliment though.

The Mayan Myth was all sixes and sevens, It does not add up, I would not not be surprised if they had been discredited by mainstream religion in order to make their own look good, go ahead and burn another witch because the pompous book they recited was written by a mentally ill king, circumstances are called too late for a reason and when that percentile is screaming in the middle of the street for answers, I hope they will be happy with their closed mind way of thinking, I am cold but ready!!!
