Other than victimization, holding people accountable for something that happened years before they were born, neglecting to mention that black people in Africa sold black people into slavery, that there were white slaves as well, giving an excuse why it is okay to talk shit about a person based on the color of their skin and it not be racist, but the reverse is reprehensible, not mentioning all the social programs put in place to help out economically challenged people but the large percentage of them would rather complain that they are not getting enough instead of utilizing the system to better themselves - regardless of race.

Honestly Person1, I didn't hear him speak anything rational, though I do understand how his logic would titillate the weak minded.

Gee, Aamer, let's just completely gloss over the fact that the Arab world trafficked in slaves for 14 centuries, and that parts of it still does.

African Slaves In The Arab World
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Over 28 Million Africans have been enslaved in the Muslim world during the past 14 centuries While much has been written concerning the Transatlantic slave trade, surprisingly little attention has been given to the Islamic slave trade across the Sahara, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean.

While the European involvement in the Transatlantic slave trade to the Americas lasted for just over three centuries, the Arab involvement in the slave trade has lasted fourteen centuries, and in some parts of the Muslim world is still continuing to this day. A comparison of the Muslim slave trade to the American slave trade reveals some interesting contrasts.

While two out of every three slaves shipped across the Atlantic were men, the proportions were reversed in the Muslim slave trade. Two women for every man were enslaved by the Muslims.

While the mortality rate for slaves being transported across the Atlantic was as high as 10%, the percentage of slaves dying in transit in the Transsahara and East African slave trade was between 80 and 90%!

While almost all the slaves shipped across the Atlantic were for agricultural work, most of the slaves destined for the Muslim Middle East were for sexual exploitation as concubines, in harems, and for military service.

While many children were born to slaves in the Americas, and millions of their descendants are citizens in Brazil and the USA to this day, very few descendants of the slaves that ended up in the Middle East survive.

While most slaves who went to the Americas could marry and have families, most of the male slaves destined for the Middle East were castrated, and most of the children born to the women were killed at birth.

The concept of reverse racism is racist itself.

You have 2 human beings, both acting according to the same (flawed) logic, both behaving in the same tribal, fearful ways, and then you call one "reverse" purely based on the amount of melanin they have in their skin, or what culture they come from.

It implies some sort of absurd "reverse" racial pecking order. Are Chinese people who hate Indians reverse racist, or just racist? Do we delineate on skin tone, or how much one culture has repressed another? Is an Armenian being reverse racist when he hates on Turks, but regular racist when he hates Koreans?

Or is reverse racism only reserved for the white devil?

I actually agree with the comedian in the OP vid, that history and context cannot be ignored in any meaningful examination of race, but even if you escaped from a brothel yesterday, they'll still lock you up if you go back next week and kill the motherfucker who runs the place, and rightly so.

Old history can explain or mitigate new bad behavior, but it can't justify it.

Yes, it would be like saying Europeans are "bombing brown people" into the Stone age because of this little piece of history. But I'm sure Aamer will have no comment on it.

Arab slave trade

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Arab slave trade was the practice of slavery in the Arab world, mainly in Western Asia, North Africa, East Africa, and certain parts of Europe (such as Iberia and Sicily) during their period of domination by Arab leaders. The trade was focused on the slave markets of the Middle East, North Africa and the Horn of Africa. People traded were not limited to a certain race, ethnicity, or religion,[1] and included Turks, Iranians, Europeans, and Berbers, especially during the trade's early days.[citation needed]

During the 8th and 9th centuries of the Fatimid Caliphate, most of the slaves were Europeans (called Saqaliba) captured along European coasts and during wars.[2] However, slaves were drawn from a wide variety of regions and included Mediterranean peoples, Persians, peoples from the Caucasus mountain regions (such as Georgia, Armenia and Circassia) and parts of Central Asia and Scandinavia, English, Dutch and Irish, Berbers from North Africa, and various other peoples of varied origins as well as those of African origins.[citation needed]
