In a sense. You see, you can actually develop it into your own accuptuncture type healing method. Are you nervous or feeling vulnerable? You will begin to notice points on your hand that be pressed in order to prevent such feelings and allow you to go on with your life happily and confidently.
As with physical effects I do think it may help alleviate strains or spasms within the muscles, aswell as relaxing the joints, for men anyway. But other than that, I dont neccessarily think it's the cure to arthritis haha.
One thing I will point out, is the significance of hand gestures. Look at someone like Obama when he's making a speech, he's very much in control, and if he feels nervous, he may twitch his hands abit. This may seem normal to some, but some do also forget these little natural things. ':)

Rachelwordsmith wrote:I disagree wholeheartedly. But you have one thing right, sex is involved but it has nothing to do with a god or reproduction and everything to do with usurping power. The fable you speak of was written about 1500 years after the Jews began. Written by the Levites as a propaganda tool. The Levites were the priestly ruling class competing with the dominant matriarchal temple system-- the story was created to do a hatchet job on women in general and priestess rule or control directly. This was created out of nothing after the return from Babylonian captivity (530 BC) but there are indications of many borrowed goddess rule iconography which was ubiquitous then and which was twisted into negatives--very cleaver--in order to disembowel goddess worship. If you study the religions before and around this time you see this was written as a political exercise-- understand the Levite's issues and position and you see the cause and effects plainly. BTW it was not an apple, apples did not exist in the middle east at that time, ( a misrepresentation from the dark ages) it was a pomegranate which was also a syllable of feminine rule or power and that fruit as a symbol is directly tied to mother earth worship. This is just known history. I doubt any of you will read this, but it's just the facts none-theological scholarship has reveled. Theologians have no validity. The Levites weren't Semites, they were the ancestors of earlier indo-European migrants--war god worshipers.
