From a senior citizen around 80 yrs. of age. Seniors aren't useless yet.

The Fix

There recently was an article in the St. Petersburg, Florida Times. The Business Section asked

readers for ideas on: "How Would You Fix the Economy?" I think this guy nailed it!

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings -Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new AMERICAN Car. Forty million cars ordered -
Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage -
Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes.

Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!I agree with this 110%

I guess you didn't do the math. Paying old people 40 TRILLION dollars won't do anything but bankrupt the country. And where does the president get 40 trillion dollars? The total net worth of the US is around 60 trillion, the entire economic system would grind to a halt.

I guess that's a good thing to some people here.

The whole reason for out sourcing our work is so those countries that make the stuff we want USE THEIR resources and give them to us.

China uses so much oil, oil on making stupid plastic crap that we recycle and make stuff out of.

Thanks China, thanks for all the petrol based plastic which we will use later. Thanks India, thanks for all the precious metals you put in batteries.

Our dollar is about to collapse so we basically got that good stuff for free :flop:

And now your country is bairn and stripped of natural beauty/bounty.

We are the biggest gangsta's of the world. We take the stuff that makes your country great for ourselves, and pay you with money that has no value. America O.G. since 1776 :lol:

Ever wonder why we import oil? Because we use the other guys stuff first and suck it dry. Then we open up Alaska and Dakota for business..... Then everyone has to come to us for what they need. :lol:

Gold/Money is useless in the desert when you have nothing but sand. enjoy your day in the sun Saudi Arabia, you will all be dying of thirst in a decade or two.
