Few creatures see the world from a bird's-eye-view. Maybe that's why so many people want to fly in helicopters and airplanes. And now... just about anyone can. It's probably not what you'd call an "inexpensive" hobby, but it costs less than you might think. Arash Arabasadi spent a day with the folks from Freeway Airport outside of Washington, both on the ground and in the clouds above Maryland.

I agree, there are many ways to cut costs.

If you think of all the different costs (books, equipment, medical FAA license etc) they do add up but there are many ways to cut down!
