I don't know exactly what the effects are of increased radiation. since the discovery of nuclear energy the global background radiation has risen and now with the decreasing magnetic earth field this rises even more, specialy at the equator.

Studies amongst soldiers that use contaminated ammo have shown that the fertillity is decreased.
I think it depends on the form and the concentration of the radio activity.

These are leaks from only British nuclear power stations. There are some 140 nuclear power plants in Europe and I imagine the are all constantly leaking. What are these leaks doing to the food chain? What is an "acceptable" level of radiation?
