What I mean to say precisely when I said neither attack nor defend was more in reference to the verbal exchange with the egocentric mindset Mine, to be exact), if that makes any sense to you. That is to say, viewing the exchange with the concept of attack/defense, rather than impartial aquisistion of knowledge as the goal. Had I been paying more attention to my inner voice during that "debate", I would have quickly realized there was nothing to gain in electing to do battle with Icarium, after the first few responses, but I let my reactive self come to bear. Icarium wasnt trying to educate me in any way, that I can see...and because I saw it then and there, the challenge was to not engage at all, wish him the best and go on my merry way. I failed that challenge. But I also learned a little from it. And yea, I agree about challenges...they are what shape us and are true teachers. The last five or so years I have come to see them as the universes way of affording me the oppurtunity to better myself.

Good for you Nya :flop: I noticed that immediately. You're right, it is difficult at times. I continue to work on the same things myself. That fact, in and of itself, is a good thing. It is a road well traveled, and has much to teach, when we are receptive. That is the tricky part. lol. My reception seems to fade in and out at times. As long as you find your way back to the road, though, I think you are doing well. Good Luck to you , and Happy Thanksgiving, Man.

And you as well Eli. Thats a good clarification, for I now understand what you mean by responsive. Thats been my goal for the last few years, building a place to live based upon what I percieve as right and just, in accordance to the concept of harmony. It didnt start out that way however...and its funny you mention the coorelation between governance of the self and governance of the many (exposure to fractals really opened those concepts up for me). My endeavours, going back about 4 years ago, were a reaction to the "agenda" as I came into all this information on the net. The initial inclination was to fashion for myself a doomstead, though Ive never really liked that term. Over time, as I started to actually put the plan in motion (stockpiling food, guns, ammo, etc), I became aware of a strong desire to not to just survive...but to live and prosper in harmony with nature and others who would inevitably be going with me...and therin I found what I was really looking for in life all along, and it transformed from fear of what was comming to a joyful expression of how i wished to experience my time here on earth. After that my spirituality accelerated in so many dimensions (from energy work and meditation to working with water and crystals, plants and permaculture growing) and continues to do so. Is this what you would consider an example of responsive and pro-active?

@ Seahawk, thanks for the kind words bud, they are appreciated! Were all here to teach each other, even if unwittingly, and to teach ourselves. The path is difficult, but thats its reward in the end... the journey IS the destination. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.../(the mug toasting thingy)!

A Koan for my friends, though they are the words of another, I have felt them also:

"A monk lay dieing, to his friend, his lasts words were "Ah, I have now finally found the path again",
"but beloved friend, you have never truly strayed from the path".

ALL the best to ALL of you in ALL :)
Taking it easy, really taking it easy, is hard, lol...
