2c. Copyrighted material: If you quote text from another web site then please properly credit the source. Not doing so constitutes plagiarism, always include a source link with quoted material. Members are asked to copy only as much as is necessary when quoting copyrighted material from other web sites, do not copy and paste entire articles or web pages.

source: Dtv forum rules..........

I approached this with a member earlier today when I saw this occurring time and time again.
When this was mentioned by me the member then posted more of the same and wrote and the bottom of the post that he again wasn't going to post a source.

At one point I counted 18 new topics by this member on the front page alone, this pushes all the other posts onto the next page and isn't a fair practice to the other members who are bringing in new topics as well.

Please be considerate of others when you engage in this type of behavior.

Shouldn't this veiled reference on Savyfair be handled privately between him, yourself, and the administrators of this site?

One of the rules to good management (the equivalent to moderatorship) is to never discuss your grievances in front of the whole room. Your attempts to veil who you are referencing are thin like tissue paper.

Savyfair: I enjoy your posts dude. Even without links, you've given me some interesting perspectives. However, I wouldn't mind - one Member to another - if you could provide links where possible. Plus it would take away Lucid's reasons to create whine posts all the time; and I think we'd all appreciate that one.

That's cute, One of the other good rules, is never to assume.
We discuss things, that have been repeatedly reported by other members. It is also discussed with admin.
Then one lucky mod puts it in the boards. The one that gets to take the shit for it.
From jerks that only look for ways to insult others, or fail to appreciate what volunteers have to do behind the scenes so no one ruffles your feathers.
Nice work hotshot.

It's not that I fail to appreciate what the volunteers are doing, I've been moderator and administrator in other places before, but I stand by the fact that this is a poor way to handle the situation. Not even the fact of bringing up the rules, but by the veiled reference to you know who... Unless I did assume the wrong person, 'cause if I did, how about we clarify who Lucid is refering to.

And if this volunteer work is so much trouble, why couldn't you snobby bastards have the decency to even consider my application? Did you conspire in your little hidden moderator forum and discuss my merits before deciding that no reply was the best method?

Too many don't read the rules, and too many just ignore them.
We get reports about many members, before a post like this is made.
Yes you assume too much.
and I have never seen your application come up.
We don't receive them. Admin does.
Is that snobby and bastard enough to live up to your expectations?

I can only tell you that just very recently that there has been talk of adding on. I expect that applicants would be discussed soon. I'll be sure and apply this post to yours when it is brought up for discussion.

@hesop
You're complaining about a mod rightfully taking shit, which you admit you knew would happen, Instead, why can't you answer my question in the spook thread.

If there were any threat of any kind, or matters of concern to other members it would be brought out. But it is a confined incident. I am not going to assume what the reasons are, as there may be valid cause. I apologize if it gave rise to any major concern. There is none to the general membership, nor the site. I was publicizing my awareness only.
