Found symbol

I was recently on vacation in Southern New Mexico and came upon a symbol that looked pretty familiar. I've seen it before in a picture or some where, can't remember exactly. I was wondering if anybody can give me some insight or clues on where its from. I didn't take a picture because I didn't think it was anything special until I was telling a friend about it. The symbol sort of looks like it would be from a cult. If your interested in helping me out, let me know and I'll figure out how to post a sketch on here or send it to you. Thanks

Galex, best if you sketch it, scan it and post it mate.. I am sure there are plenty of people who may be able to help you decipher its meaning.

qft, your description lacks too much to even start brining up conclusions.

Also, what site did you notice the glyph at?
that will help us immensely also in pin pointing a picture and/or description of it from the net.

Here is the symbol. The one on the bottom right with the check mark is the symbol I'm trying to find out what it means. Hope this helps. Thanks for your tips and looking into it.

Not entirely sure, but if this was at or near a Hopi archeological site, then this is likely a representation of orion.

Just a vague guess at this point.

It does not look Mayan, do you know the name of the dig site you saw it at so we can have a better time tracking down what language it is and go from there.

The symbol was located on Cooks Peak Mountian, near some petroglyphs. This was the only symbol I saw of this style. That's what caused my concern since it didn't match all the other petroglyps. Thanks

thanks for the location, will see what I can come up with.

Does the site still get archeological attention? Do you perhaps have any idea who holds rights to that site? They most certainly should have some insight on this symbol, and to why that it is different than the others.

Is this location close to you by any chance? It would be epic to get a real picture of the symbol. :flop:

My best suggestion would be to find the person in N.M who has been studying that site for the longest, and shoot them an email with your picture. :flop:

To me it looks similar to the symbol for Alchemy.
