A visit supervised by the Syrian authorities
This time, the regime of Bashar al-Assad has decided to organize a visit framed. "Under the leadership of the security services, we paid a visit to some of the city. There are areas where we can move normally and we see women and children in the street," says Jens Franssen.
The group of journalists is divided into two according to the testimony published by the Figaro.fr, Mohammed Ballout, BBC, present in the group. One delegation, "escorted by the Syrian Ministry of Information," consists "of journalists from CNN and CBS and the AFP," while that which was Gilles Jacquier, escorted by a Lebanese nun favorable to the Syrian regime, Sister Mary Agnes, "had in its ranks Gilles Jacquier and another journalist of France 2, five Belgians, two Swiss, two Lebanese and a Syrian journalist."
"We were promised a total freedom of movement, said on Europe 1 Jacques Duplessy, independent journalist, correspondent of Western France, this alongside Gilles Jacquier in the drama. But in fact," it was very, very box "says he.
