‘Proof That S.F.’s Circumcision Ban Is Anti-Semitic’

Fearless blogger Zombie informs us:

As you may have heard by now, San Francisco will be voting this November on whether or not to ban circumcision in the city.

Defenders of the measure say it’s all about “human rights” and “protecting babies” from unnecessary procedures. But critics suspected there was something vaguely anti-Semitic about the whole proposal, since among Jews (and Muslims, as well) circumcising male babies is a religious duty, not just a mistaken medical procedure. Ban proponents insisted their proposal had nothing to do with Jews — really, it’s all about the rights of children.

So, really, this has nothing to do with not liking Jews! Oh, wait. Because now there is the issue of …Foreskin Man!

The author of the anti-circumcision referendum is Matthew Hess. San Francisco Chronicle’s Debra Saunders talked to Hess:

His website, mgmbill.org — which pushes “a bill to end male genital mutilation in the United States” –also pushes his literature and merchandise starring “Foreskin Man,” shown here at right.

The star cover image of his comic book shows a dark, bearded rabbi looming over a naked baby laying on a pool table, as a superheo appears ready to save the child.

Saunders asked Hess if his comic is anti-Semitic. His answer: “A lot of people have said that, but we’re not trying to be anti-Semitic. We’re trying to be pro-human rights.”

See? No worries! No anti-Semitism here!

Something some may find interesting, other will not but....

There is something in the bible about this.
- In the bible, Genesis 17, God said that he would give the land of Canan (Israel) to the Jews for all eternity if the Jews would perform the token of circumcision.

Back in approximately 175 BC the King of Syria outlawed circumcision. He thought the Jews were responsible for all the trouble so he started banning things and circumcision was one of them. As you all know, circumcision is done by both Jews and Muslims, as well as a large segment of the male population. Keep in mind this is thought to be a token of the covenant with God.

In Genesis 17, Abraham becomes Abraham and God says, I'll make a covenant with you and your people. I'll be your God and I'll give you something else. But in exchange you'll give me circumcision. You'll have that as a token of this. (This is paraphrasing of the actual story, obviously. I'm sure the anti-religious will still have fun with this!)

To get back on track. By banning circumcision you are forcing people to break one of the oldest covenants with God. It just seems to be interesting timing with all that is going on in the world concerning Israel. Take from this what you will, but it's yet another intriguing set of circumstances and timing.

thats interesting ryder,but my gist is,let folks do what they want,leave there traditions alone,when traditions are broken,so is community too,and thats what this is all about,destroying community,without it,leaves folks powerless.

heres the irony/hippocritical= kids are encouraged to eat mcdonalds and junk food,it destroys them,overweight,brain damage from the saturated fats etc,but thats ok?
