For several days now, a coalition of nations has been hammering targets inside Libya as part of a United Nations resolution to protect civilian lives in the North African country's recently erupted civil war.


Here is a look at some of the military kit that has been deployed by the United States and allies during the ongoing military intervention.


B-2

The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit — better known as the stealth bomber — entered service in 1997 and before Libya had seen action in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The United States Air Force (USAF) has 20 of these big-ticket planes in service; each B-2 on average costs close to $3 billion (in 2011 dollars), according to a Government Accountability Office report.

Engineers designed the B-2 to infiltrate enemy airspace without drawing much attention. For example, the "flying wing" design cuts down on edges that radar can bounce off of, and the engines are mounted within this wing to minimize thermal signatures.

The aircraft can hold up to 40,000 pounds (18,140 kilograms) of ordnance in its bomb bay.


Nuclear Submarines

The British Royal Navy has sent the HMS Triumph, a Trafalgar-class nuclear sub, into the waters off Libya. Trafalgar-class submarines, which came into service in 1984, measure 279 feet (85 meters) long and 33 feet (10 meters) wide. The Triumph, along with U.S. Navy ships and submarines, launched more than 110 Tomahawk missiles in an initial volley to take out Libyan air defenses on March 19.

The U.S. has two nuclear attack submarines in the region, the USS Providence and the USS Scranton, and a cruise missile sub called the USS Florida.


F-15

The F-15 Eagle, originally made by McDonnell Douglas and later Boeing, has been a mainstay of the USAF since the mid-1970s. The twin-engine air superiority fighter is capable of exceeding Mach 2.5 and carries an array of armaments, including Gatling guns as well as guided and heat-seeking missiles

A multi-role derivative of the F-15 Eagle, the F-15E Strike Eagle (shown above), crashed in Libya on Monday due to an equipment malfunction. Both pilots ejected at high altitude and were later rescued, although they sustained minor injuries.


Tomahawk Cruise Missile

This jet-powered guided missile has been blowing up targets since it officially came into service in 1983. Fired from a ship or a submarine, Tomahawk missiles weigh about 2,900 pounds (1,315 kilograms), with the warhead accounting for about a third of that total mass.

The missile has a range of approximately 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometers).


Dassault Rafale

The French have deployed this warplane over Libya to help enforce a no-fly zone against the Libyan air force. The Rafale has an advanced electronic "survival system" that closely tracks aerial targets and threats. The aircraft's radar can also generate three-dimensional maps of the ground below for terrain-following even in blind conditions, and is the only fighter with this capability, according to Dassault Aviation's website.


Guided Missile Destroyer

The USS Barry and USS Stout, two guided missile destroyers with the U.S. Navy, are also participating in the international intervention. As their name implies, these ships launch guided missiles, such as Tomahawks.


Panavia Tornado

The Italian Air Force has scrambled several Panavia Tornado ECR (Electronic Combat/Reconnaissance) aircraft, according to reports. Rather than dropping bombs or destroying hostile aircraft, these ECR planes will engage in so-called suppression of enemy air defenses with a special system that zeroes in on ground-based radar sites. An AGM-88 High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) then is fired to take out the station.

Several nations, including the United Kingdom, Germany and Saudi Arabia, also bought the Tornado before Panavia, a tri-national consortium, ceased production in 1998.


F-16

The USAF's F-16 Fighting Falcon is a lightweight dogfighter that has been in service since 1980. Like the F-15, the jet has been sold to numerous countries, and U.N. nations Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway, for example, have all pledged to send in F-16s, along with those deployed by the U.S.

The craft is noted for its nimbleness and ability to take on multiple kinds of missions. General Dynamics built the early versions, and Lockheed Martin has since taken over production of the craft for export.

The amazing thing about Serenity from the firefly tv series was that the ship didn't have any guns only those carried by the crew, a great series shame only one was made along with one film. Can you tell I'm a fan

Looks like they are showing their metal to Iran, in the year of the Chinese year of the Metal Rabbit. God help us all next year when it is the Chinese Year of the Dragon.

We did say that when they stop fighting us they will fight each other, and that G20 and its pea brains would fall apart.

Thank you for sharing the picture of the glider looking airplane. I had a vision of the glider, i will have to check out the info that we wrote at that time.

Remember this the people did not give the governments a 'power of attorney' to do what they like with your money.

I rather like this video and gave to the machine that stood against me and the will of God.

Bambi Vision
Earlier today I saw a lovely vision of a Bambi winking at me and it is a powerful message for the gentle and tender hearted. There is a lot of sorting out going on and humanity are just not up for being in a state of unhealthy consciousness anymore.


Those that promote or support a lack of well being or unhealthy realities will be brought to account rather fast. Those that are driving the machine to destruction will reach their end because as the scriptures predicted the meek shall inherit the earth.






A few years ago there was some research done in Europe by
Henley, it was the largest research ever carried out in Europe
with over 22,000 participants.


Most people were not satisifed with seeking outside of
themselves for material realities anymore. At the top of
their list of requirements was well-being and happiness.


Those that promote well-being and a healthy consciousness
through whatever means are a magnet for the goodness of
humanity. The good and upright are not up for a lack of
integrity, drugs that don't work, governments and people
who do not catch up in 2010.


This is the year of the great emergence out of the old ways
of being that is destroying humanity and the planet.


Its interesting to note that there is "Golden Bambi Film Award"
and the gentle and tender hearted will certainly receive their
rewards for being who they are. The original film received three
academy award nominations for Best Sound, Best Song and the
Song was called


"Love IS A Song".






In the film Bambi's Father tells him that his mother cannot
be with the little Prince anymore and then leads him away.
The cycle of power of the Deer is Spring and Autumn and
this is certainly the final countdown.


The Deer also represents gentleness and the luring to a new
adventure. Its senses are very acute and its vision is designed
for clarity at a distance. Its hearing is also equally acute.


The gentle Bambi is gentle in its love and it understands the
gentle and tender hearted because it is gentle and tender itself.


You'll Be in my heart
