Christianity has nothing to do with human nature. In fact it flies in the face of everything that makes us human. It demands that you throw out Logic and reason to believe an impossible story. Then it tells you not to question the supposed word of God, even though there is no evidence other than the wonders of nature. If all you have to base your faith on is the awe of our ignorance, than you have nothing.

I think we can all agree that everything, including we humans are made from Star Dust. If you can go from accepting that we came from a non-biological source, what is so hard in accepting the fact that we evolved from another (you may say lesser) biological creature? I will tell you. The human EGO.

Suggest that man is just an Animal with a highly developed cerebral cortex and people scoff at the notion. Most have to believe we are the center, end all be all of what is best on the planet because we have the ability to use tools and contemplate our existance. The truth is no creature is superior than another... we all have tools that we evolved with to function in our nitch of the giant chemical reaction I call life. If I had to pick the most superior creature (that I know of) it would be the Virus.

The best we can do is Live our lives in a way that is not destructive to the delicate balance of our corner of the universe and ensures a sustainable future for later generations.

Listening is good, but thinking is more important, since it is our defining trait.

tertiusgaudens: For some reason my 'gut' instinct says you are not who you say you are. There is something about your choice of words in your 'General Remark' post that sounds rather 'ugly or distasteful', for lack of better words for someone who is suppose to be a Priest. It almost feels like you are trying to instigate a debated discussion that turns people against one another while you slip away. You say you live in Germany, etc. but I can't help feeling this is all a rouse on your part. There's no way to substantiate my suspicions so I will leave it at that. As I said, it's my 'gut' instinct. I'm sure I'll get all kinds of flack for this post but that's 'one' freedom I still have at the moment and I choose to exercise it while I still can. :roll:
