George Washington the Grand Master Mason

Every scholar knows that George Washington was a Freemason and a Grand Master Mason at that! In downtown Alexandria, VA there is the George Washington National Masonic Monument. It is the least visited of the National Monuments in the DC area (public tours are held daily) and yet the most interesting by far! Here are a few excerpts from the book George Washington's Sacred Fire by Peter A. Lillback (Providence Forum, 2006)...

"In 1752, when George Washington reached the age of 20, he was inducted as an Entered Apprentice Mason in the Fredericksburg Lodge. Thereafter, Masonry plays an important, if discreet part in his life, as it did among many of the Founding Fathers. Indeed, it is true to say that Masonry was one of the intellectual building blocks of the Revolution. GW allowed lodges to flourish in several of his war camps. It was a link with advanced thinking in France."

Re: the Masonic teaching of immortality,

"a foundational claim of the Masonic order is eternal life, symbolized in their ritual of burial by a sprig of the acacia tree, a symbol to them of eternal life." p. 504

"his membership in the Masonic Order also supports the evidence that shows that Washington believed in immortality." p. 507

"George Washington's funeral service followed the Masonic rite."

This last excerpt was from the back page of the book. If you didn't know it was about George Washington, it might have been from a book on Robert E. Lee or Dwight D. Eisenhower... :!:

Hey members of disclose.tv, what's up? How come no replies?

I've found that alot of people like to attack the Freemasons - especially on the Internet - whether they really know anything about Freemasonry or not! :oops:

When I inform anti-masons about Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and John Hancock - the three men most responsible for the American Revolution - being Grand master masons, they find themselves in the uncomfortable position of having to attack those men. :ohno:

So, put up or shut up all you anti-masons!

Let's hear you admit that you may have had the wrong impression of Masons or lets hear your attacks on Franklin, Washington, and Hancock! :bang;

Are you inferring that because the Freemasons have had such illustrious personages as Franklin, Washington, and Hancock within their ranks that it must then be out of the realms of concievabilty that such an order could have become subverted since these great men passed on, into history? An organization can exist beyond reproch on account that it housed good men at some time in its past, and before then, and even afterward as well? If this is what you are saying, that is a ridiculous claim...as utterly ridiculous as saying that our Government today in the US is obviously a just and noble organization by reason that such men as...err..Washington, Franklin, and Hancock had a hand in it a few hundred years ago. Your perspective here cant possibly be that one-dimensional. ...can it?

Regardless I merely think the numbers were exaggerated. It's absurd to deny that the Nazis had a deliberate plan to exterminate Jews, considering how utterly anal they were with their paperwork.
