The original reason I joined facebook was with the intent of getting back in contact with friends I went to highschool with. Turns out that hasn't happened like I had wished.
What it ended up being mostly is friends and family I talk to daily anyways. Disappointing to say the least.
And who cares if Amanda just took a dump and found corn. It's pathetic what people put on there. My two cents

It's not about getting there, it's what you get out of the journey

Hmm indeed, someone can take any activity to the extreme.
But, overall i disagree, Many use the site for networking for employment, training, among other social activities..
An in animate object CAN NOT make anyone do anything, only the decisions that we make limit us in our progress, and activities. If things arnt happening as we would like to see them, then we need to set out goals accordingly.
Seems more likely to me, that our culture looks for something to blame other then the real source, Ourselves.
. Ie Treat symptoms not the problem. To assume, that the use of an inanimate object has the affects as mentioned is absurd, and vary questionable. But we live in a propaganda driven world now, so yes, get away from a device, where news travels almost instantly. Threw networking sites.....
I would have read the article but

He says our devotion to such sites could alter the way genes work, upset immune responses, hormone levels, and the function of arteries, and influence mental performance.

Truthfully, the very same thing can be said of this site. On failbook you converse with people you know or are related to, on DTV you converse with complete strangers.
If many of you think someone is a loser for posting on FB, do you really think you're a winner posting on this fucker? 80-90% of the posts on DTV amount to nothing more than fear mongering, yeah I guess that makes you a winner!
