I went in one with my father when I was a child (that was back when I lived in Fort Knox, so I must have been in 5th-6th grade) but it was way more secured looking then the one in this series. Interesting thing about this is the miners fear of "tommy-knockers" which are a sort of earth element superstition that manifests as a ghost and warns people to get out of the mines, also the part about red-headed woman especially being bad luck in mines.

What is cool is that they have installed cameras all down into the mine so they can watch the guys work without being under them and making them paranoid.
