anyone know how to get an approx length or size of "worm" from that info btw ive written "worm" like that as we dnt no wot it is not a dig at will
Using a photo editing suite that has a pixel counter you could determine it's Maximum possible size (if it is on the surface) by downloading the ORIGINAL image and counting the number of pixels and multiplying it by the pixel scale.. Of course, if this "worm" is not on the surface and floating between the camera and the ground, this is quite pointless as you do not know how far away from the camera it is...

Good thinking on the possibility on the pipes from skylab, just another angle to think on that... if Skylab broke up on re-entry, then the craft and everything on it would be under the influence of gravity and would fall to the surface. But if an exterior pipe was lost from a craft before it succumbed to the influence of gravity, it is very possible...

As of now they only have the metric mapping files available, but at least with those you can get closer than ever before.
