There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. Genesis 6:4

Stretch your mind back to childhood. What giants do you remember? Jack and the Beanstalk? Hercules? Paul Bunyan? Goliath? What were you told and what did you read? With the exception of Goliath and an occasional ornery cyclops, legends emphasized their innate goodness, eye-popping feats accomplished with unparalleled strength, victories over the bad guys and all performed by "gentle giants". What if it were all a lie? What if the truth were something much MUCH more sinister?

I have invested over 30 years researching the vast history of giants. It has, for the most part, been kept from the public. Proof of giants' existence - their skeletal remains - has been quickly secreted away in obscure museums, when not destroyed. Additionally, time has cloaked and sugar-coated these creatures' true perverse nature, the majority too vile, too demonic for bedtime stories. However, history is replete with their tales of unimaginable cruelty, sexual perversity, cannibalism and pagan rituals. This is only the beginning. Some things are best forgotten. . . or are they?

Where did these giants come from and what was their connection with ordinary humans? Just who were they? What happened to these extraordinary creatures? Is it possible they could ever return? The last question I will answer right now - YES, they most definitely could return! And they have something much worse in mind for mankind.

Intresting reading.

This is near where i live The Long Man of Wilmington, mysterious guardian of the South Downs, has baffled archaeologists and historians for hundreds of years.
Until recently the earliest record of Europe’s largest representation of the human form was in a drawing made by William Burrell when he visited Wilmington Priory, nestling under the steep slopes of Windover Hill, home of the 235 feet high Wilmington Giant. In 1993, however, a new drawing of the Long Man was discovered, made by surveyor, John Rowley, in 1710.

Until the 19th century the Long Man was only visible in certain light conditions and after a light fall of snow, but in 1874, it was marked out in yellow bricks. It is claimed that during this restoration, the feet were incorrectly positioned, but, despite popular local legend, there is no evidence, historical or archaeological, to suggest that prudish Victorians robbed the Giant of his manhood!

In 1969, further restoration took place and the bricks were replaced with pre-cast concrete blocks that are now regularly painted to keep the Long Man visible from many miles away.

Well, I went to school with a guy who wouldn't stop growing, so they repeatedly broke his growth plates to make him stop growing. If someone gets too big, it isn't very healthy for them and many problems can follow. At least that is what I've been lead to believe, I'm not sure it would feel very good to have your bones broken repeatedly though.

so many great links :flop:

personally i do not think that a human being could survive much bigger than say around 12 ft tall. i don't think that the body would function properly. if there were giants, I don't think they were human. or maybe there was more oxygen and less gravity in ancient times... maybe that wouldn't matter...from what i've read, the larger a man gets the more health problems arise. joint problems and cardiovascular stresses etc. quality of life is pretty low when your whole body is barely keeping itself together. a healthy 30 foot tall man would be so amazing.

Everytime I have read or watched a science show on gigantism, these people are in pretty bad overall health. Is there or was there a race that could get to 10~12ft? Who knows for sure. I'm sticking with what I've seen. Perhaps there was a time when this was more common? I will look into your thread more closely, interesting reading regardless if I buy it all or not.
Now I'm nothing...

I believe God uses these beings for multipurpose scenarios. It will definately be part of the last days. Job speaks of them living in the ocean, I wonder if all this oil is going to make them appear on the scene??

In addition to the genetic theories on giantism. There exist some additional and perhaps not separate ideas on the planetary environment that allowed giantism to occur organically. Working backward on the time scale, it is premised that the ozone layer was much thicker before, "the flood", assuming this to be the flood of Noah fame. The extra ozone blocked out considerably more harmful solar radiation allow for large growth among all species.
Secondly there is the, Growing Earth theory. This stipulates that the earth was small eons ago. Small means less gravitation pull, there for things like dinosaurs could grow as big as they did.
I cannot explain why as the earth get larger, organisms upon it get smaller other than current climate not being conducive to it.
Lastly to look at the health of Giants. It is a general fact that the larger an organism is the more like it is to have problems. This is true for any system, organic or not.
