Dr. Steven Rayle, a former emergency room doctor who now works in a hospice, said that he had witnessed the shootings. He said the congresswoman was standing behind a table outside the Safeway greeting passersby when the gunman approached her from behind, held a gun about a foot from her head and began firing.

Edit: This all sounds like how Sirhan Sirhan was able to shot Bobby Kennedy at point blank range behind the ear, from 3 meters away to the front.

I read an article where several hospital employees were fired for trying to take the medical records of the victims in the shooting, as well as the congresswoman. Now why would they want to do that? hmmmmm...

I'm starting to believe that laughner was as much of a "mind controlled distraction" as a "mind controlled assassin."

edit: Let me elaborate, let's say you want to kill a congresswoman for some reason, if you just shoot her with a sniper everyone is going to be screaming political hit. But if you also send in a mind controlled patsy to just shoot indiscriminately into the crowd, as well as a pro to take out the intended target, then you can guarantee a safe exit for your pro. Who is everyone going to be looking at, the discrete pro, or the guy shooting everyone he sees. Instant lone crazy gunman official theory, and no talk of political hit. I know it is a stretch but too many thing in this case just don't add up.
