The government cant disclose, its already gone to far, to admit that even one of the current conspiracy theories is correct ( alien exsistence) is to give credance to all the others.
The general consensis would be "well if they have lied about that" what else might they be lying to us about. What else is true.

We may see a day where they say they have "discovered " there are aliens but they will never, ever admitt what has been going on for the last 50 or 60 years.
I will respect your beliefs*, I will research your beliefs, but dont expect me to believe.
