There is nothing in this article that even comes close to suggesting Asherah was God's wife. And the bible quotes - like Deuteronomy 16:21 - clearly state that the poles are not allowed in the temple. It's true that the Israelites deviated from their monotheism, mostly because the surrounding people were polytheistic, and God told them to stop. Hence the physical evidence of Israelite worship of many "gods"...for example, they also worshiped Baal, and God condemned them for it. Baal, like Asherah, is mentioned in the Bible, as a false deity.

The reference these researchers mention from Kings goes like this, " The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the priests next in rank and the doorkeepers to remove from the temple of the LORD all the articles made for Baal and Asherah and all the starry hosts. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley and took the ashes to Bethel." Does that sound like the Bible is calling Asherah the wife of God?

These "theologians" are either poor researchers or outwardly trying to deceive. My guess is the latter.

This is an excellent response. And who are these starry hosts? The same ones channeling messages to this itching generation and appearing as lights in the skies.

The one important ‘fact’ that is very often omitted from any intelligent argument about god’s, deities, beings with extraordinary powers etc etc etc, is the mere fact that ALL of these so called ‘god’s’ cannot do one simple thing.....
It is NOT that difficult to simply ‘communicate’.
Any logical argument would surely be inclusive of this very fact. They always seem to speak to certain ‘chosen’ people, appear as lights in the sky, come to you in dreams, channel through mystics, even talk through dogs... We also have many many texts which people always refer to, yet again omitting the ‘fact’ that these texts were written by other ‘people’ based on so called apparitions, talking bushes etc. Of particular note to me however is yet again the ‘fact’ that more often than not these written or spoken messages are cryptic in nature leaving ‘everything’ to interpretation and ones’ own imagination. They always seem to resonate with someone for varying reasons, why? Because that is the intention in which they were written, that is how they manage to deceive and be so convincing.

Sorry folks, if a higher being can fly around in lights, channel through witches and the like, surely they have developed some form of method to communicate in no uncertain terms. Or is this just too simplistic? Do we honestly believe that a higher being would leave everything open to interpretation?

Yet again, please do not let the’ facts’ get in the way of a good story. I guess for people who are bored enough with their own lives to live in a world of fantasy is not that uncommon and we all do this to a certain degree. However, please do not become so obsessed that you fail to do the one thing that ALL your imaginary friends keep telling you to do... LIVE YOUR LIFE to its fullest!
