There is nothing in this article that even comes close to suggesting Asherah was God's wife. And the bible quotes - like Deuteronomy 16:21 - clearly state that the poles are not allowed in the temple. It's true that the Israelites deviated from their monotheism, mostly because the surrounding people were polytheistic, and God told them to stop. Hence the physical evidence of Israelite worship of many "gods"...for example, they also worshiped Baal, and God condemned them for it. Baal, like Asherah, is mentioned in the Bible, as a false deity.

The reference these researchers mention from Kings goes like this, " The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the priests next in rank and the doorkeepers to remove from the temple of the LORD all the articles made for Baal and Asherah and all the starry hosts. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley and took the ashes to Bethel." Does that sound like the Bible is calling Asherah the wife of God?

These "theologians" are either poor researchers or outwardly trying to deceive. My guess is the latter.

Creation stories around the world name the male / female creating principles, science put down in words.
But 'we' forgot about a lot of things and the growing ego always was on the lookout for control, so because of this need and the lack of knowledge these principles turned into gods / goddesses, also changed roles (there are male fertility gods like for instance the green men, the sun was female for some time and the moon male)
The last big change was the destruction of the female god / female principle and the choice for one male god, thus blocking the path of beauty / Isis / Sophia / Gaia / ... and leading to an extreme unbalance in humankind.
What the ones that changed this consciously did not know was that this system will ultimately destroy itself, leading to a new dawn.

I have read those books verbatim, it clearly states on page 1102, second paragraph that she was in the kitchen baking cakes and tending to the household chores by day. By night she was the goddess of fertility, he would call her this especially after he had a few drinks to try and get in to her pants. It worked sometimes, other times he ended up in the dog house until he sobered up. He was so drunk though that when he looked up at the house from his drunken stupor he would read the sign above the house upside down ... dog house hence became god house. And so the story goes...

If people only dedicated this much time trying to understand their own relationships rather than past, nonexistent ones we would have a much lower divorce rate, and a many more fertility goddesses for all to enjoy.

monotheism originated in egypt,akhenaton, amenophis, tut ank amen,this is where it originated,in the middle east,the recent past anyway,and this is where the idea came from.but all tribes have always been monotheistic,in aboriginal culture,it was biame the one who created the universe,but biame manifested in two divine forms,male and female,and this is how it is for all races,the lie was spread and used to villify traditional cultures by saying they were polytheistic when they never were,

by deliberately misinterprteting,and using the lie to justify land theft and murder.

Most people will debate whats IN the Bilble, few realise what was left OUT of the Bible.
It's like reading a detective novel in which several chapters have been removed - who removed them and why is the most interesting part - we are viewing past events with one eye closed.
History, like religion is all down to perception - and we all know that History is written by the the victors........
