I'm from Glasgow, Scotland, which can be a pretty rough place depending where you go.
I am trying to imagine what would happen if such a gun license was available here.

A person can "open carry" anywhere, and concealed with the proper permit. I've seen people in bars a few times, open carry, John Wayne style, but only during deer hunting season. Occasionally, a person will cause a stir by open carrying in a downtown environment, to make a point, that it IS indeed legal.

The problem with us 'Glaswegians' is that booze and guns do not mix. Infact booze and someone standing next to you does'nt mix. Most of it is sectarianism, I dunno if you've heard of the Celtic and Rangers football fans hatred for each other here in Glasgow, it causes carnage with slashings, stabbings etc.
