Is this an accurate account of religion from the late George Carlin?

It was a sad day when George died. If we all thought like him, the world would be a better place. As for the religion issue....If you take all the major religions and break them down to their fundamentals, they are all the same. We created religions to explain the unexplainable, however much of the once unexplainable has been explained.

I mean surely a man whos so angry at the universe for letting his wife die of cancer, and the men who have corrupted the values of a set of books which find their analog all over the world (without inviting the same hostile hatred, by the way) SURELY is objective enough to know for sure whether or not there was an intelligence behind the creation of the universe.
