Didn't they try this 10 years ago and the prototypes crashed? I remember seeing a Discovery channel show about it.

It would be seriously cool to have a Johnny Cab.

'It would be seriously cool to have a Johnny Cab.'
-Well yeah i can see the johnny cab picking folks up after a few beers :P . How would it make you pay for your fare ? I guess the door does'nt open if you don't pay ? Well just like in the movie what about malfunctions ? A scary world all this automation in my view. It can have it's place but the mindset behind it seems is to replace human beings completely. When enough machines exist then less humans are needed, afterall machines do not exhale c02 like humans right ? .. Less jobs also. I'd like to be wrong.

I was reading an article about this kind of technology in the Ottawa Sun yesterday. Not related to Heathrow though. Reminds me of Kit from Knightrider :o
