Odd question thruster?![]()
What makes you ask that?
Just something in the way you post, (silly hunch, really). It occurred to me on previous posts of by you, I'm not sure why.
Don't answer if you would rather not say.

The idea of a "radio Station" is really cool, nut there is a big stumbling block is music is to be played.....
Royalties,
Ever wondered why the provincial stations play the same songs over and over? Even running the same oldies on rotation, it's all to do with the royalty payments. Chart artists are paid more in a single day of airplay than they gain from an album sale.
Of course a solution to this would be to play artists who are royalty free (unsigned) who might want the exposure, which is a win-win as far as that is concerned.
If DTV hosted an intenet radio on its own server then I believe there are companies that specialise in selling blanket royalty rights to small internet stations. Of course that would be something that admin would have to look into.
Of course having advertisers would go somewhat to alleviate the financial burden on DTV, and could very well make it profitable.
As far as content is concerned?
I have it on good authority that stations like coast2coast do not pay their guests, so there lies a possibility to get similar guests on air. Most Authors and documentary makers are happy to do a session for some exposure of their product.
I would imagine that unless there were hosts based around the world hen 24/7 broadcasting would be pointless, maybe to start with 2 or 3 hours of programming a day and once the live feed has finished a loop of the last weeks shows are played alternately with the lastest.
Just some food for thought...

Got a point there, Zeta.
I remember when I wanted to advertise a business of mine over the radio and I had a certain tune in mind to run through it and I was flabbergasted at how much it was going to rush me if I wanted to use the song.

haha, Yeah man I know it's not cheap. the majority of the license fee paid to BBC radio is used purely to pay royalties. As for adverts, well, this is why advertising companies have deals with labels to get better deals on background music...
I really do think the idea of a DTVradio has legs, but that stuff is up to the admin...
