Krauthammer on Senate Health Vote: ‘Historic Day Dems Will Regret’ After ObamaCare ‘Explodes’ the Deficit

With the health care bill passing in the Senate on Christmas eve, political commentator Charles Krauthammer called the day an “historic day the Democrats will regret.”
Krauthammer predicted the Obama administration will have to spend all of next year working on “rules for cutting the deficits after it explodes it in this health care bill.”
“Well it was historic, but I think it’s a historic day the Democrats will regret. And the reason is, there is tremendous opposition and the reason there is opposition is for a simple reason, it was sold as a free lunch. ‘We’re going to expand coverage, cover millions of new people, subsidize them’ – which is a nice good thing – ‘and we’re going to reduce the debt at the same time.’ Everybody understands that that’s impossible. It’s a free lunch. And when you look the details – the weeds of this – that sense that people have, that innate sense, is in the numbers.”

Typical Democratic ploy. Pass legislation that breaks the bank, then spend the rest of their term raising taxes to pay for it. Real smart.
