I think the parable of the feeding of the 5000 is quite simple..

IMO, the boy came forward with the food he had (five loaves and two fishes) and Jesus dude started passing it around. Others, who were feeling guilty that the boy had gave up his own food and they had selfishly concealed their own food supplies started taking their own out and adding it to what was being passed about. Hence there was enough food to go around.

The boy was probably a stooge of Jesus dude and it was an orchestrated psychological mind game which worked to stunning effect
