another component that plugs into our sexuality and distorts what is more beautiful of the male and female human....distortion and control......when you look in the mirror do you see your own true beauty or is it attached to and shaped by the outer world perception?

Sexism is defined as a “system of beliefs that asserts the inferiority of one sex and that justifies gender-based inequality.” Objectification, on the other hand, is the habit of substituting objects or animals instead of people. Throughout history, sexism in the music industry is prevalent especially when it comes to the exploitation of women. Even though the objectification of women may be seen today in most rap songs, this practice have been around since 1970s or 1980s through heavy metal songs. Therefore, this may be considered as an institutional sexism.
In “Can’t Hold Us Down,” Christina Aguilera implies that our society is a patriarchy, "male-dominated society in which cultural beliefs and values give higher prestige and values to men than to women (Newman 461).” This is shown in “If you look back in history, it’s a common double standard of society. The guy gets all the glory ; the more he can score, while the girl can do the same and yet you call her a whore.”

Masculinity and Advertising
In its study of masculinity and sports media, the research group Children Now found that most commercials directed to male viewers tend to air during sports programming. Women rarely appear in these commercials, and when they do, they’re generally portrayed in stereotypical ways.

In fact, in his analysis of gender in advertising, author and University of North Texas professor Steve Craig argues that women tend to be presented as "rewards" for men who choose the right product. He describes such commercials as "narratives of playful escapades away from home and family." They operate, he says, at the level of fantasy—presenting idealized portrayals of men and women. When he focused specifically on beer commercials, Craig found that the men were invariably "virile, slim and white"—and the women always "eager for male companionship."

The Porn Myth
In the end, porn doesn't whet men's appetites—it turns them off the real thing.

At a benefit the other night, I saw Andrea Dworkin, the anti-porn activist most famous in the eighties for her conviction that opening the floodgates of pornography would lead men to see real women in sexually debased ways. If we did not limit pornography, she argued—before Internet technology made that prospect a technical impossibility—most men would come to objectify women as they objectified porn stars, and treat them accordingly. In a kind of domino theory, she predicted, rape and other kinds of sexual mayhem would surely follow.

The feminist warrior looked gentle and almost frail. The world she had, Cassandra-like, warned us about so passionately was truly here: Porn is, as David Amsden says, the “wallpaper” of our lives now. So was she right or wrong?

Not Tonight, Honey. I'm Logging On.: Internet porn is everywhere; even "nice" guys are hooked. So where does that leave their girlfriends? By David Amsden (October 20, 2003)
The New Position on Casual Sex: The rise of Internet dating has brought a sexual openness (not to mention one-night stands) to the younger generation not seen since the seventies heyday of Maxwell's Plum. But can there be too much of a good thing? By Vanessa Grigoriadis (January 13, 2003)
.

She was right about the warning, wrong about the outcome. As she foretold, pornography did breach the dike that separated a marginal, adult, private pursuit from the mainstream public arena. The whole world, post-Internet, did become pornographized. Young men and women are indeed being taught what sex is, how it looks, what its etiquette and expectations are, by pornographic training—and this is having a huge effect on how they interact.

But the effect is not making men into raving beasts. On the contrary: The onslaught of porn is responsible for deadening male libido in relation to real women, and leading men to see fewer and fewer women as “porn-worthy.” Far from having to fend off porn-crazed young men, young women are worrying that as mere flesh and blood, they can scarcely get, let alone hold, their attention

The natural nueral developement and connections of our childerens brains are under attack...as to cut the legs off of the body and replace them with artificial ones....flouride plays its role as well and i wonder to how it connects with the conditioning of humanities seeds of tomorrow.

Natural development of the brain is interupted as the desensitization of our children produce the soldiers of tomorrows wars...it's introduced into their lives and shapes theor perceptions of the way the world is.....some of them truly believe that it has to be this way.....conditioned for battle from their youth....both for urban and civilian warfare.....

there are connections to the shaping of perception within these examples of components introduced to these absorbing interupted minds.

Extensive viewing of television violence by children causes greater aggressiveness. Sometimes, watching a single violent program can increase aggressiveness. Children who view shows in which violence is very realistic, frequently repeated or left unpunished, are more likely to imitate what they see. The impact of TV violence may be immediately evident in a child’s behavior or may surface years later, and young people can even be affected when the family atmosphere shows no tendency toward violence. However, this does not mean that violence on television is the only source for aggressive or violent behavior, but it is a significant contributor.

Television is being blamed for children becoming violent in later life because it is an easy scapegoat. In many families, television has become an electronic baby-sitter; a replacement for quality time with parents. Children who spend their after school time alone because parents work will find themselves learning behaviors not from their parents, but from television.

some video games play their role in the desensitization as well as the objectivications...perception shaped from minds that our disconnected from its natural course of growth.

Video Games Desensitize to Real Violence
By Rick Nauert PhD Senior News Editor
Reviewed by John M. Grohol, Psy.D. on July 28, 2006 New research has found exposure to violent video games can desensitize individuals to real-life violence. According to the investigators, this is first documented finding that video-games can alter physiological responses typically aroused by real violence.

Past research revealed that exposure to violent video games increases aggressive thoughts, angry feelings, physiological arousal and aggressive behaviors, and decreases helpful behaviors. Previous studies also found that more than 85 percent of video games contain some violence, and approximately half of video games include serious violent actions

can you see it or do some of us perfer to stay in denial?

how do you see these suspects of shaping perception intertwined with your own.....which way are we heading and how long will we trust that which means us no good?

"Saturated" is probably the best word to express the ongoing bombardment of the human mind. "They" are feeding the human mind with useless facts, news and knowledge, only to saturate your brain and suppress the thoughts that might actually help you in life and in your search of the truth (not meaning UFO disclosure etc, but the truth about what or who you/we really are).
In music, fashion, news and TV shows, magazines and newspapers... it's not about informing you, it's about entertaining you and keeping you busy with silly opinions and made-up trends. "They" decide what you should buy, eat, wear, watch, listen to and have an opinion about.
"They" might be the NWO, the ultra rich people, the royalty, the illuminati,... whatever.
It doesn't matter who "They" are, what matters is WHY they are doing it.
It can't be about money : they can create it and destroy it. Why would they need more of what they already control 100 % ?

It could be about knowledge.
"They" know more than we do. They know the game and they know how to play it.
Throughout life, we get glimpses of that knowledge and truth, but most of the time we don't realise/recognise it, because we are in a sedated/saturated state of mind.

They are hiding something, keeping something secret... and I would sure like to know what that something is :look:

Great thread and posts, Bayonetta :flop:

Well, that's why it is called entertainment.
It catches attention and because energy goes where attention goes, it catches your energy. All those times you cry when you see horrible news it keeps you in the past, makes your own blocked emotions stronger, deepens the attachment.
And now in the virtual age, people disappear completely in this world that has no heart or soul.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against games and so on, but there is also a real world, real djedi.
'We' will never know if we are being controlled or not, if we have free will or not, because the landscape inside is endless, but with some effort you can leave the human control behind you.

suspect.....
"Education should aim at destroying free will so that after the pupils are thus schooled they will be incapable throughout the rest of there lives of thinking or acting otherwise than their school masters would have wished...When this technique has been perfected every government that has been in charge for more than one generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policmen."

Johann Gottlieb Fitche

for how many generations has our school system been reshaped to accomidate their desires?
