Phil Plait: How to defend Earth from asteroids
TEDxBoulder, Filmed Sep 2011; Posted Nov 2011
What's six miles wide and can end civilization in an instant? An asteroid -- and there are lots of them out there. With humor and great visuals, Phil Plait enthralls the TEDxBoulder audience with all the ways asteroids can kill, and what we must do to avoid them.
Why you should listen to him:
Phil Plait is the Bad Astronomer. Not a bad astronomer, but a blogger for Discover Magazine who debunks myths and misconceptions about astronomy -- and also writes about the beauty, wonder, and importance of fundamental research.
He worked for six years on the Hubble Space Telescope, and directed public outreach for the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope. He is a past president of the James Randi Educational Foundation, and was the host of Phil Plait's Bad Universe, a documentary series on the Discivery Channel.
"I now know how many gallons of milk would be produced by a supernova, and that experiencing death by asteroid has a 1 in 700,000 chance of happening per lifetime."
Nancy Atkinson, Universe Today

Nice video
I don't think we have the means with normal tech to stop a huge asteroid, but I do believe their is the tech on Earth to stop them, if you get me.

hey i was just curious, if a asteroid did hit, what would the effects be? it would cause a shockwave and probably mess up the atmosphere aswell as a few other things. my question is pretty simple, the pyramids design, is it possible that it could have created a shield of some sort, i watched a video wher ea man used frequencies to make a waterfall using the pyramid design. it kind of cascaded over the whole pyramid so ive always wondered this. xD

All we really need to do is put satellites in space that can project a large enough frequency at on coming asteroids to push them off course or vibrate them into molecular pieces.

already have the technology on how to stack sound waves too.

Exactly, it happened in Tunguska 1908? residents reported seeing a blue beam come from the Earth and hit the object.
Look at the recent Elenin and YU55 incidents, they both strangely altered their course, look at recent satellites that were suppose to crash to Earth, yet despite many satellites none were able to track them.
Many recent videos of missile launches whereby they fail or malfunction, coincidence I think not.

Or just use the alien tech we have, that would be much easier

Exactly, and if this is true it explains why it blew up above the ground
