Whether or not Thompson is a coward is beside the point, being willing to face ridicule from the masses for voicing what you believe in does take some courage, however sticking your head in the sand and hoping our problems will go away on their own takes none.

It's so easy to ridicule others, you can even do it without an original thought of your own! I wouldn't have labelled him a prophet, more like a realist. However, I must agree that it doesn't take a great deal of insight to point out the obvious, what does take some insight is too realize that deep down in all our hearts we can feel that something is terrible wrong with our world and lashing out at others is just denial manifesting itself as fear.
