My thoughts.

Leave the poor dude alone and do your research.
Neighborhood priests help people deal with daily life.

Its a HUGE waste of his time for you to go in and try to 'stump him'.
You think he's got the answers? You dont sound like you do..
So its kind of a foregone conclusion (ie youve already decided)
...what you'll conclude when the neighborhood priest can't resolve
every inconsistency that bugs you about the bible.

(he may surprise you , who knows...)

This to me sounds borne out of more serial curiosity than a search for anything god related..or spiritual...

Well, i mean searches are valid, but you wont be satisfied with normal mundane answers.

And then you'll further and repeatedly conclude that the church is crap, the people in it are crap, and you are being lied to and controlled....none of which are remotely true.

2. Ask why Jesus is better then the other gods.

3. Ask why he knows he made the right decision with Jesus over the other gods.

4. Ask why he dismisses the other gods.

5. Ask why the Jews dont worship Jesus, since he is one.

look up 'twisted cross' if you dont believe....
