The premise would be based on fact, as suggested. The trust comes from a verifiable content so I think the idea of 'trusted members' is unnecessary. How do you define trusted members anyway, moderators and their homies only perhaps?

For me, I do not need to trust the person but I do need to trust the rationale behind what they present. That can be applied to anyone here.

I asked this long before it was cleared up. All posts would have to be approved by mods.

And by "trusted member" I meant someone that isn't known to post hoaxes and what-not. (ahem *cough* Savwafair *cough*)

I like the idea Vulcanic.
This would be a tough one to get right.
Impartiality is what will make this work or fail.

"What if" we had a, DTV APPROVED thread?

Where any post on the site can be put to the mod team for assessment.
If the mods find the info posted valid, it could then go to a forum vote, by say members with over a thousand post count.
Allowing a post to be validated by just 3 mods is open to scrutiny, but giving the final word on the mater to the high post members truly makes it a DTV approved post.

Given a 2 week voting deadline.
If more then say fifty members vote in this poll, the post/info in question could be moved to the DTV APPROVED category.

If say in information comes out that sheds new light on this DTV APROVED post and the post validity called into question, it can be recalled for another round of membership voting, if 3 mods agree to this.

In the same place as you although I do remember my father telling me to respect my elders, that my grandfather was a wise man. Didn't like to point out he also had dementia and wet himself :shock:

Thank you for that Shendao. But wisdom does not Necessarily come with age, i had to grow up pretty quick, and i became wise very quickly :flop:

1) that would keep posters from other sites using our website for research
2) would make new members feel good about having "exclusive access" to something
3) would encourage people to join

I guess it would be set-up like your mod forum that mods only have access to, also paid membership would kill the quality of our site i think, i dont think thats a good idea
