Consciousness effects matter on a quantum level, and this is proven with many different experiments, the big one being the double slit experiment. So this doesn't surprise me at all. The juicy question is, why? And if this is in fact the method of practice (think good/bad thoughts at objects) then the implications are pretty dangerous. Imagine not liking somebody and thinking bad thoughts towards their vital organs for extended periods of time.
