An intelligent person knows how trees work.
A wize person knows why they are important.

I don't understand your response to the quote.Your statement is non-sequitor to mine.
My point is, that one cannot arrive at wisdom, without the prerequisite intelligence. So, it would not be an "either- or" pondering. Wisdom is a natural, broader step up from a sharp intellect, and inclusive. - not the opposite.
If I were going to bite my tongue, and respond to the op's skewered question, I, as any intelligent personwould, would choose to answer "wisdom," knowing that wisdom would include both- intelligence and wisdom..

Intelligence.
Higher the intelligence, the more profound wisdom one obtains in time.
A wise chimp is still a chimp.

Wisdom is experience. Nothing more.
Intelligence is the capacity to use that experience.
If you choose to discard intelligence, then you cannot obtain wisdom as you have no mental capacity for it.
--------------------------
I think the OP just stated his question wrong. It would make more sense if it read:
"Would you rather be more wise or more intelligent?"
You can't really have one w/o the other.
In either case I would still choose intelligence. Wisdom grows over time, intelligence decreases. Why would you choose to have great knowledge but no ability to understand it? I would rather have little knowledge and have a great capability of understanding, and then gain knowledge through life experiences.

The two choices we have are something starting from nothing, or something existing infinitely. These are both paradoxes. The existence of everything is therefore a paradox. -daemonfoe
