Though it is a real danger, I'm less concerned about the corporate copyright agenda than I am about the various "anti-terror" agencies and their potential power to clamp down on sites like this.
I can imagine a scenario in which a site like this might be shut down because of what could be deemed as "inciteful" content.

And that would really suck.

Well that's the danger. Maybe to protect the internet's freedom artists will just have to accept it. Who knows? Some control of the internet is probably needed though because of paedophiles etc, so where are we to draw the line?

And therein lies the price of freedom. To protect the free flow of ideas, you also inherently must protect those who will misuse that freedom.

I get your point. I kind of made the same one at first. You can see how they would use royalties as another means of curtailing the freedom of the net.

Quite right man, and so should we all! We NEED to, the internet is the only thing we the people control, once it is lost we are all slaves. All the information we get will be filtered, government approved, propaganda. I realise that is already the case for the most part but we can't lose DTV and our right to question what we are told.



It's attitudes like this that help bring this police state into effect, "We need protection from paedophiles and terrorists so take more of our freedoms to make sure we are safe"....FUCK THAT!! How about using parental control to make sure your kids aren't being groomed, you don't need the government.
