I disagree, it's completely justified that he should be imprisoned for 3 years - for missing ! If he'd hit bush, he would have been an international hero & given a medal.

Eh, I am American and yes Bush was a fool but I look at it like this....he's our fool. We can throw shoes but some idiot who is free from Saddam's sadistic ass because of us deserves what he got.

Don't get me wrong the war was not legit but the one thing we did get right was capturing Saddam. There are innocent people dead in Iraq but Saddam killed his people and did it far better than we could. Coming from a country that was built on rebellion the fact the Iraqis never did anything to help their plight has always annoyed me. The Kurds were the only ones with any balls but without help from the citizens of Iraq the U.S. knew it was futile and stopped all aid to the Kurds. They could never have overthrown Saddam.

Sorry guys wasn't trying to turn this into a war debate it's just a pet peeve of mine on one particular aspect.

What happend in Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with freeing the people from Sadam, if that was true why didnt it get done during the gulf war when all the people of Iraq were fully on our side, we went to there gate gave them hope they stood up against Sadam then we left them all to be slaughtered by Sadam. Why because it had nothing to do with freeing the people but all to do with trying to get Sadam on the side of our bankers.

I'm sorry towelie I thought I was crystal clear. I know the freeing of the people was not why we were there but it does not diminish the fact that we did dispose a Dictator. As I said it was the one thing we got right.

A dictator that was brought to power, financed, and armed by the same forces that overthrew him, making the point irrelivent imo. What is relevant and should not be overlooked is that it cost 1.3 million innocent Iraqi's their lives... as well as the lives of every foreign soldier sent there to die. One man will never be worth any of this... wether he was a Dictator, or any other label we may put on someone.

Yes all that is true but you can't argue that the world has one less dictator That can't ever be bad.

Maybe Georgie boy could speak out against Muntazers imprisonment as some kind of atonement for his sins against humanity.
