using opera this time and not firefox... just about the x the tab off in the image and this popped up outta the blue



any idea what this mysterious file is from googleads.g.doubleclick.net ?

i know ad companies have tens sometimes even hundreds of urls associated with their company... might be worth checking out if this is a genuine address or not to dissearn if this files carries malicious intent

if it does... and im nat saying or implying that it does... d.tv owners need to remain ever vigilant with these occurences... and equally so... as do the members of d.tv... cos the first time my pc gets infected causing my problems... will be the time that i personally will take steps to perminately block all adverts (for security reasons) and thus also block your line of revenue u use to fund the site... which isnt ideal ill be the first to agree... even if that means resorting to using scripts or backdoors to get to see the videos and not the add content till this bout of (potential) mishief safely passes us by... which it will if its kept on top of...

i run 2 pcs with over 6tb of storage... and if a critter such as a boot sector virus or a proper nasty expertly / poorly written virus / trojan causes me to loose the contents of even 1 of my 14 (ish lost count lol) hdds... ill cry like a bitch an flood you's out with my salty tears of dispair

i know with this kinda shit your always on the backfoot and one step behind the cunts who perpetrate these selfish acts... and these instances can only usually be rectified once they are discovered... if d.tv is under a sustained attack... lets kick some ass back



p.s. i cant see this being anything related to governmental spying... these virus / trojans (if used) are pretty well written and usually avoid the detection of most security softs... thanks to the security soft makers

plus they have backdoors into all microsoft products thanks to microsoft honouring a request from several global secret services... can u guess which ones ?

the majority of virus are written by the av software houses... they do this to ensure there is a healthy market for their products... most of these are basic things that your sec soft detects and removes a piece of piss... cos it looks good the more stuff your product removes... these basic nasties still harvest your datas... and sell that info to 3rd parties... soon as one of tehse nasties is detect by your sec soft... its already been replaced by a newer version / alternative version and their data mining op contiunues unhindered

then theres the data mining companies themselves... they dont want their nepharious actions being discovered at all... and will go to such extreme lengths as to employ top virus / trojan script compilers to ensure tehy have a decent product

then you get the cranks who do it to steal personal infoz... china and india are the main culprits... 50p a shot for complete details of someone who can be ripped off... if your trojan you wrote in your bedroom in deepest dehli or the back streets of bejing manages to infect a million pcs with their botnets... and you get a 1% return on your investment... thats as could be as much as a coupler grand in your pocket for a week or 2s sitting around waiting... these are the cunts who cause the most damage... usually cos they are shite coding and scripting...

the last variety are thos with grudges or a desire to be noticed for their programming tallent by one of the software houses / governments in order to get a job... these are usually top notch applications which you have little chance of detecting yet alone removing... possible doing it manually... proper fuck on tho... quicker to do a full format of teh affected os partition

these latter virus's and trojans are the ones that strike panic in the sec soft dev houses cos they can shift them... so they make an announcement via the media for the public to be on the look out for attacks from the... suchandsuch bot / worm... thats when you know theres a master programmer behind it all

if tehse people hold a grudge against something then expact devestation on a massive level... if they want to be discovered... then shit usually desists once on of the av devs / govs pay them for their servives... they gotten what tehy wanted

chances are tho... any attacks d.tv is under is for personal info to commit fraud... which means amateurish fuck nuggets... and lots of fucking re-installing and re-downloading of lost files to do

when you do your next format... partition you operating system hdd into 4 partitions if possible... 2 or even 3 will do... but i like to have 4 me (depending on how many flavours of os i want installing... xp + vista + wanker7... better gaming graphics with vista than xp etc etc etc... but vista and w7 are fucking bollocks to use... and should only be tollerated for gaming imo)

partition 1 (primary) : xp (or whatever)... internet access only... if you download to a seperate hdd (which is best) this partition only needs to 10, 20, 30 gb big... depends on what applications you want to install... i just give this the basic to keep me ticking over... screen caotures, editing apps (video + audio + image + text), burning soft, media player, security apps n shit like that

partition 2 (primary) : xp (or whatever)... gaming / big apps partition... NOT able to go online at all... if your one of these like i am who buy games then rip their own disc images to preserve the life expectancy of your disc (avoid scratches n shit through useage) then in the eyes of teh software developers you are the fucking scum of the earth cos you have to use cracks to enable your own images to work... im not an online gamer... i prefer not to be in that egotistical postition sat atop every leaderboard in town with the best lap times / scores... my modesty saves alot of aggro and allows other gamers to feel like they have some hope heheh... if you play online games... then install them on your internet enabled partition

NOTE : laptop users and serious gamers with loadsa games usually installed might wanna swap pertiotions 1 & 2 around to ensure the gaming partition runs as fast as possible ensuring games run smoother... the furtehr away the installed os is from the root partition (ie yor c drive)... the slower they and anything installed on them are... if your root partition is 20gb outta 500gb or a tb even... there will be less change of a 2nd os being a slow runner than it would if your root partition was 300gb

partition 3 (primary) : xp (or whatever)... basic os and app install... has online access... never used unless its an emergency... what it does have installed thos is a hdd image making tool... so you can create backups of your installation partitions should the worst happen and you cant get boot other o/s... kept offline to reduce the chances of infection... and increase your changes of doing a 10 minute recover over a single / double / triple os reformat... and the miserly that then follows installing your apps n games all over again

partition 4 (secondary) : NO O/S AT ALL...data storage partition only... this is where you store all your sizable backups of you o/s filled partitions... if you happen to loose all 3 o/s installs and have to reformat them all... then you still have your hdd images to save you some time and effort... alls thats needed is operating systems installing... then once hdd imaging soft is installed... use your backups to restore the applications n that so u dont have to

NOTE : in an ideal world... this partition wouldnt be on the same hdd as any o/s in case you get a particulary nasty boot sector which means you have to return your hdd to a factory state... ie... all the 1s + 0s on hdd (the data)... are returned back to 0s... quick reformats and full reformats using msoft discs is shite... they dont return everything back to factory even on a full format... its a case of 0 one sector miss a few and then 0 another... returning back to factory requires the type of software used by governments to clear data from hdds they are de-commisiioning... whicg can take as much as 4-8 hrs to do one pass... and could be set to do as many as 10 passes...

ive had to resort to using one of these apps only once cos of a boot sector on a 500gb sata (not laptop hdd)... 3 passes took 18 hrs to complete... pain in the arse


OTHER SHIT I DO / RECCOMEND PEOPLE DO / OR 'SUPERSTITIONS' I UPHOLD :

1. never install any apps when you pc is online... ESPECIALLY if theyre them dodgy stolen apps that people ripped from emule and kazaa (thats dead now innit ?)... using illegal apps is bad news... both with pc security and morally

if your in a position where you have to use illegal warez cos the software company thinks their 5mb application is worth tens, hundreds, thousands of whatever denomonation your countries fiat currency happens to be in... then try to only use ones that are :

a) from a reputable cracking house (yes i said reputable... theres sort of an unwritten prime directive that dates back to the amiga & st days i think that makes its highly fround upon if you abuse what your doing... ie... nasties in keygens / cracks / patches)... the idea of this rule is to command ultimate respect from those who use your products and those who also release cracked products... it has been know for some cracking groups going to extremes to ensure your happyness is the only thing that happens... ie... fixing the applications themselves and preventing crashes / glitches ensuring happy driving (what the dev supposed to do)... or even... devoting an unbelievable amount of UNPAID man hours to crack an applicatoion which has super super tough security built in... best example ive heard of is team H2O and the syncrosoft that came with steinberg cubase 3 sx (and steinberg nuendo too)... it took a year to do and over 1000 man hours of labourious code hunting and application development to fool your pc into thinking you have teh syncrosoft usb dongle installed in your machine... this usb dongle was your password details and without it plugged into pc... your soft remains in limited demo mode... after this release... team H2O disappeared from the scene... as did team OxYGeN too... rumours had it steinberg payed them off very hansomly to esnsure cubase 4 didnt get cracked... and it remain uncracked for a very very long time... until team AiR came along that is (hmmm what a sycrosoftnistically similar name choice... co-incidence i bet )

b) if you cant find what you need from a reputable rls group and you have to resort to using cack... make sure you get a version that comes with a serial on a text file and not a keygen... download the file... chuck the app... keep the serial... download app from vendors website ensuring your highly less likely to catch a virus or std

reasons for not installing while connected online... the program used to install you application (the .exe you double click to run setup) is made by a 3rd party company such as installshield etc... these installer apps usually have full access to the web through your firewall soft by default (dev dependant)... miscrosoft firewall being the worst offender... not only does it allow all (i think) 3rd party installer vendors phone home... it usally lets the application through too... but only microsoft trusted companies tho... teh type which are big enough to sue your arse for using the apps illegally

2. if your wanker... this applies to you... porn porn porn... the land of sexually transmitted virus's and tojans... if you need to use porn cos you lack imagination and / or a gf... then install an application liek vm ware to protect your personal data and your privacy... these virtual machines stop a significant amout of viruss from attacking you operating systems meaning its stays cleaner thus faster (online and booting / shutting down) for longer

3. microsoft updates... keep well away from them imo if your not running vista or w7... i have my original xp disc from 2002 /3 with only service pack 2 and .net framework 2.0... I NEVER UPDATE IT ANYMORE... cos im finding as time goes buy... even with this bog standard install... im getting hit by malicious activities even less and less... why ?... cos most people use vista or w7 now... cos it comes already blackmailed on their laptop as standard... virus / trojan devs are focusing on these people nowadays... and less and less on the xp folk... just goes to show... vista & w7 are useful for at least one thing huh ?... p.s. i havent used ms update on my xp in 18+ months easilly (before w7 came out)... had to reformat 2 times, needing doing again... not becuase it needs(ed) it... cos im one of these that as soon as i get a virus's or trojan that cant be removed by av soft... after a week or 2 of definition updates...if ive still got that critter... my shit gets wiped completely

so in an ironic twist... the way i see it is... in order to try and stay one step ahead of malicious software developers... you needs to stay a couple of steps behind lol

side note... for some games / applications you may need to install .net 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 service packs to enable them to install... if it needs it.. do it... but only if it does

4. look into appls like nlite (freeware) so u can create your own tailored version of you unattended (no need to add serials/ choose locations etc etc during install) o/s installs complete with drivers and apps also already installed... its not easy but its not hard either... but worth learning cos its saves a tremendous amount fannying on

do i use illegal apps ?... i used to do in the past... now i just find freeware alternatives to use instead... theres an unbelievable amount of top freeware apps that do just as good a job as their expensive counterparts... warez arnt worth the grief they come (potentially) packaged with imo

shit like portableapps.com... is utterly butterly unbelievably good and can be fully tailored with whatever programs you need... its free and its totally clean... 11 / 10 highly useful indeed ;)
